From the cabin you walk in a northeasterly direction through Øyestøldalen to Øyestøl. Further through a narrow gorge called Indre Trongane. At first glance, it looks impassable here, but there is an excellent paved drift road through the gorge.

Hønedalen
Tour description:
The new hiking trail in Hønedalen under the auspices of Sinneshyttå and Solhytten and is a great initiative for cabin people in the valley.
The hiking trail starts in from Hønedalen Hyttegrend, and goes where the road ends along Høna in the Sesilåmi route and inwards towards the shooting range, where there is a bridge over Hønedalen.
This is a round trip of about 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Falkeknuten - 876 masl
Tour description:
The trip to Falkeknuten starts at Hompland, 7 km north of Tonstad. Here you follow the signs to Steindalsknuten. First over pasture and up an old riding road near the river Heimså. You enter a tractor road that leads to Steian. Here you turn left further up the gravel road until you see a sign from the road and into the path along the east side of Øvre Løyntjønn.

Steindalsknuden - 748 masl
From Hompland, 7 km north of Tonstad, there are several paths up the mountain west of the valley. To Steindalsknuten it is 6.3 km to walk from the road if you start south of Hompland by the river Hemså. Then you first cross a pasture and up an old riding road. You enter a tractor road that leads to Steian. Here, turn left further up the gravel road until you see a sign from the road and into the path along the east side of Øvre Løyntjønn. Here you have to cross a bog before it carries up to Heimrestøl. From there, the landscape becomes more open, the tree line is passed a little further up and you have then walked from the valley's spruce forest, through pine forest at Løyntjønn, the mountain birch belt and come up on the plain heath.
Grauthedlar to Lyseboth
From the cottage, up and west through lush and exciting landscapes. At path sections towards Fitjaholet and Litle Aurådal, the trail meets the power line and follows it further west, on the south side of Øvra Ramsdalstjørna. The route turns northwest away from the power line and goes down Søra Kamsbrekka to a new crossroads towards Litle Aurådal and Nilsebu to the east and the path towards Lysebotn to the west. From here steeply up the Midtkammen, involves some climbing. The trail continues over the ridge, but turns south to pass through a cut down to Heimra Vaulatjørnet.
Nitrogen to Haugen
The entire stretch of 2.6 km from Kvæven to Haugen is on a gravel road. The terrain is light and well suited for prams. The hiking trail has side roads that allow you to walk different variants. At Haugen there is a café and mini golf course. Part of the road is close to Sirdal Fjellgolf's 9-hole course. At some of the picnic areas, you can sit and study golfers trying to get the ball into the hole. At some of the picnic areas you can see and study fine cultural-historical buildings and travel cabinets, which were typical of the time when they drove with mountain mowing.

Øysteinshedlar
Tour description:
This is a short trip that is suitable from 3 years and up. The trip goes on a good path all the way. After about 50 m, turn off the road, turn right and follow the path upwards until you arrive. This slab is 22 m deep, 39 m wide and 15 m high. He has a berth for 20.
Access:
Between Åmli and Tjørhom, take off towards Tjørhom power plant. Turn right where the road divides. Park at the power plant, the path turns left from the road a little further inland.

Klavsteinen
Klovsteinen is a natural phenomenon up on the heath east of Tonstad. It is located by an old road from Tonstad to Ovedal.
You can get to Klovsteinen from Tonstad via Høgåsvegen past the power station. At the end of the road, the marked path starts. The trail is easy to walk. In the beginning, the path goes near the cliff.
1.8 km from the parking lot at the end of the road to Klovsteinen, 140 m ascent. 1 km further to Ovedalsgruva. 1.5 km from the mine down to Ovedal.
Gamle Finsnesbakkane
This old traffic road is part of the old "Nordgardsvegen" between Tonstad and Bjørnestad. The road connected further westwards to the heaths to Rogaland. You enter the original hollow road on the edge of the ski arena. It takes you to "Drikkekjelda" and further down the old slopes to Viraksvegen. The drinking spring is a horse-drinking faith from a hollowed-out rock.
Langavatn to Blåfjellenden
From the cabin by Langavatnet, the trail goes down the valley in a south-westerly direction on the west side of Rundavatnet and over a small ridge. From here further down the lush Blåstøldalen. The valley widens and the landscape alternates between grasslands and poor marshes. At Blåstølen, the river is crossed on pavements. Today, only the walls after the stallion are visible. The route continues past Håndsteinslega and the shepherd's hut under Blåfjellenden and up to Leitesåna. Leitesåna is crossed on a year-round bridge and the cabin is close by.
Haugen to Fidjeland
From the barrier, take the northern direction. After 5-10 minutes walk you come to Hønetjødn which has an inviting beach for hot summer days! Continue around the ponds, and turn northeast in the direction of Hønestøl, and further from here in a northern direction up the slightly steep Urdalsskaret. Allow 30 minutes to reach the top, before starting the descent to Finnstøl (10 minutes). Continue north on Finnstøldalen, along the left side of the stream.
Oygardstøl via Kjerag to Langavatn
The route starts at Øygardstøl (the parking lot of Kjerag on Lysevegen). From here it carries steeply up bare rock for the first ascent on the road to Kjerag. A chain is fitted here for extra support (seasonal only); the surface can be slippery, especially in wet conditions. A well-marked and well-used path is followed past Kjerag emergency hut and on towards the Kjerag plateau. On the Kjerag plateau is a signpost that shows the way, among other things. towards Langavatn, and from here the route turns southeast down blank bare rock and passes west of the height 1084 masl. At the bottom of the valley, there are trail sections back towards Øygardstøl, and southwest towards Langavatn. The route continues gently up the lush Stordalen on the west side of Rundavatnet to the section between Flørli (still in the same direction), and Langavatn to the southeast. Further over Varmekroheia and steeply down towards the tourist cabin at the southwestern end of Langavatnet.
Grydalen to Grauthedlar
The start of the route is marked with a sign near the shepherd's hut in Grydalen. Cross the river and go in a northerly direction up the valley floor behind the cabin. After about 20 minutes of ascent, the terrain flattens out and you continue along the stream to the north. You must then cross the cut, before you start on the gentle climb towards Kjeringstøldalen.
Hagnedlar via Nystøl and urvatn
From Hompland 6 km north of Tonstad, there is a path up into the heath that leads to a gravel road and later a path to Håghedlar via Nystøl and Urvatn.
South of Hompland, by the bridge over Hemså, there is a path up into the heath. This goes over a pasture and up an old riding road before you enter the gravel roads inwards. After a stretch of gravel road, there are signs where you take the path further. A round Øvre Løyntjønn and goes over a bog before Heimrestøl. Further up, the path takes off east from the path towards Steindalsknuten and passes Nyestøl. Further east towards Håghedlar, the terrain is flat and partly marshy.
